UFC megastar Conor McGregor was pretty heated at the recent UFC 229 press conference in New York. During the conference, “Notorious” went on to accuse his upcoming opponent Khabib Nurmagomedov of having connections to some highly controversial individuals. That being said, Conor McGregor has a history of his own.
During the press conference, McGregor accused Nurmagomedov of being involved with Russian oligarch Ziyavudin Magomedov. Magomedov is currently under investigation for embezzlement charges.
“Notorious” then took aim at Nurmagomedov’s alleged association with highly controversial Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov. However, it would appear that Conor McGregor may have previously had a run in with a few controversial characters himself.
Conor McGregor once reportedly had a $900,000 bounty put on his head by the Irish organized crime group known as the Kinahan gang. McGregor allegedly physically assaulted a man within Dublin’s Black Forge Inn, a man that was friends with the Kinahan gang’s Timmins brothers. “Notorious” reportedly had an altercation with the Timmins brothers weeks before as well.
The Iris police went on to quell the situation with a few warnings to the Ireland native and public messages concerning the matter. Conor McGregor was later reportedly seen with alleged Irish mafia members just hours before April 5, 2018 attack on a UFC charter bus that would ultimately land “Notorious” within the New York court system.
