The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is currently gearing up to host another exciting night of fights. However, it would appear that one of the upcoming events for the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion has lost one of its match ups.
The highly anticipated fight card for UFC 231 is set to take place Dec. 8 from within the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. The live pay-per-view event was initially set to see middleweights Antonio Carlos Junior and Elias Theodorou go face to face. However, the bout will no longer be taking place.
Taking to Twitter, Elias Theodorou has now come forward to reveal that he is injured and will be forced to pull out of the event. Check it out below.
“Hey @EliasTheodorou Really sorry man! The injury I had is a little more serious then I thought. I’ll need a surgery, so won’t be able to fight Dec 8th. Pity, I was going to give you a bjj lesson, and not hurt you cause your cool!!! @Alexdavismma”

UFC 231 is only the latest of a series of bouts to be cancelled, as UFC Fight Night 137 even recently lost headliner Glover Teixeira due to an injury.
