Canelo Alvarez Sets The Record Straight, Takes Triple G’s Title In Main Event

The time has finally come. Pugilist phenom Canelo Alvarez and unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin are now throwing down for their highly anticipated rematch. With the bout now underway, the time has come to take a look at the boxing result.

Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin first faced off inside the illustrious T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. back in 2017. The bout went the distance, ultimately reaching a highly controversial majority draw.

The two pugilists were then set to face off in a rematch on May 5, 2018. However, the match was cancelled after Alvarez failed a drug test.

The two boxers are now set to battle it out inside the squared circle for the unified middleweight championship live on pay-per-view via HBO from within the same T-Mobile Arena. Check out the boxing results from the stunning match up down below.

Golovkin fired off with a fury in the first round, but Alvarez managed to check his opponent with a few swift strikes. Still, “GGG” appeared to be getting the better of his opponent with his jabs.

The second round was a big one for Alarez. The fighter started landing some massive bombs, as Golovkin continued to toss out lighter jabs in an attempt to keep his opponent at bay.

The third round was a close one. Alarez had a little more trouble landing his power shots, as Golovkin remained consistent with his jabs throughout the round.

“GGG” began to gas in the fourth round. Alvarez took advantage of the moment and began to pour on the pressure, much to his success.

In the fifth round, Golovkin began slowing down even more. Alvarez appeared to be speeding up and began stunning the champion with more power shots. However, “GGG” was not backing down.

Golovkin fired back in the sixth round with a strong series of combinations and precise jabs. Alvarez attempted to keep up with the champion, but this was a strong round for “GGG.”

The seventh round was an all out war. Golovkin fired off with some power shots of his own, but Alvarez refused to back down and countered the champion’s shots with punishing bombs.

Golovkin suffered a lot of shots in the eigth round, but gave it as well as he took it. This will be a tough round for the judges.

Both competitors were exhausted by the ninth round. Still, Golovkin and Alvarez managed to put on an intense war for the Las Vegas crowd.

Golovkin hurt Alvarez in the tenth round, but the pugilist was quickly back on the attack. “GGG” poured on the pressure, as Alvarez continued to weather the storm. This was a strong round for the champion.

Alvarez tried to rally in the eleventh round, but “GGG” continued to pour on the pressure and land some powerful hooks. Still, Alvarez finish strong in the final ten seconds of the round.

The final round was a frenetic one. Both fighters attempted to earn a finish, but the fight of the year contender bout ultimately went the distance.
