Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones failed a drug test for UFC 214. USADA has since come forward to announce that the former title holder will endure a 15-month suspension over the matter.
Of course, Jones’ suspension is retroactive to the date of the anti-doping policy violation. Consequently, the former champion will be eligible to compete once again on Oct. 28, 2018.
Speaking to media after the recent UFC 229 press conference in New York, UFC President Dana White has since decided to break his silence on the former champion’s immanent eligibility.
“I don’t know.” White said, when asked if he feels he can trust Jon Jones with another marquee position for a UFC event in the future. “Talking about trusting him is whatever. This is his life. He’s had, obviously, a lot of opportunities and he’s getting another one. Let’s see what he does with it.”
