Former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic was on a tear through the octagon before he faced Daniel Cormier. The Cleveland native broke the UFC record for most consecutive title defenses by a heavyweight champion, having earned three victories in a row while maintaining the belt.
That being said, Miocic suffered a devastating first round knockout loss to Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 226 earlier this year. Still, the former title holder believes he will one day break the UFC record he himself has set.
“Records are meant to be broken. I set the record defending my heavyweight title three consecutive times. I fully intend on being the same one to break that record. #SM”
