Former welterweight boxing champion Victor Ortiz turned himself in to authorities in Oxnard, California on Tuesday following a warrant being issued for the pugilist’s arrest. Ortiz is facing a series of charges, including felony offenses of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, and forcible digital penetration.
Ortiz is suspected of having forced himself onto a woman in Tarzana, Calif. back in March. Ortiz was initially set to headline Premier Boxing Champions on FSI this Sunday against John Molina. The bout, however, has since been cancelled.
As reported by the Los Angeles Times, Ortiz has since made his $100,000 bail and is expected to appear at the Ventura County Superior Court on Oct. 10.
