Retired UFC hall-of-famer and Mixed Martial Art’s legend Urijah Faber has that itch… the itch to compete again.
Luckily for the “California Kid”, and his legion of fans around the world, he’s booked his return to competition, just not in the MMA cage.
Instead, Faber is booked for an exciting night of grappling on October 5.
Here’s what he said:
Getting the itch to compete! Been a minute. Excited for Oct 5th!
Details on Faber’s return to competition are as follows:
Grappling legend Kazushi Sakuraba has found great success with his new Quintet Grappling Invitational events. Now it would appear that the grappling phenom will have UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber competing on his next card.
Quintet Grappling is a kachinuki style tournament in which an individual faces off against a new opponent from the opposing team until he loses or wins the tournament. As soon as a grappler loses, another competitor from the grappler’s five person team steps in.
On Oct. 5, Quintent Grappling 3 will be taking place in Las Vegas, Nev. The event will be broadcast live via UFC Fight Pass, the UFC’s proprietary streaming service.
The UFC has since released an official promo video for the event, revealing that UFC Hall of Famer and founder of Team Alpha Male Urijah Faber will be competing within the tournament.
