In New First, Entire MMA Event Cancelled On A Moment’s Notice Following Safety Concerns

Mixed martial arts promotion Battle Arena was initially looking to host an event. However, on a moment’s notice, the entire event has since been shut down.

As reported by RTE, the event was initially set to go down within Ireland’s Claremont Stadium in Navan. Minister for Sport Shane Ross has since offered a statement to the stadium officials. Ross found it “deeply troubling that any event promoter could contemplate running an event which would expose the participants to an unacceptable level of risk and injury.”

“While I don’t have the authority to stop this event I do ask the event promoters to consider cancelling it if they cannot implement these basic precautions in full.” The stadium organizers have since shut down the event.
