YouTube sensations Logan Paul and KSI earned an estimated 800,000 PPV purchases via a $10 live YouTube broadcast for their boxing match earlier this year. Since then, Paul has been voicing an interest in joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Speaking to media after the recent UFC 229 press conference in New York, UFC President Dana White shot down any interest in signing the internet celebrity.
“That guy would get murdered here.” White said. “He would get hurt badly. If I ever let him fight in the UFC, I should be arrested. But hey, no hate for the kid. Good for him. Look at the business that guy has built on YouTube and the number of pay-per-views they did on YouTube.”
“But, trust me.” White later added. “Don’t play around over here. You will get hurt.”
Taking to Twitter, Logan Paul has since offered a response to the UFC president.
“damn. you’re thinking real simple D. ‘he would get hurt badly’ you let CM fight. stop acting like you do it for the sport. paycheck = fight. you have no idea what I’m capable of.”
