Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is currently awaiting USADA’s verdict concerning his latest failed drug test. That being said, rumors have been floating around that the former title holder is being targeted for UFC 230.
UFC 230 is set to take place Nov. 3. A massive live pay-per-view event, Nate Diaz will be making his massive octagon return against tough UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier in the night’s co-headliner. The event will take place within the illustrious Madison Square Garden Arena in New York. However, the event has yet to land a main event.
Jon Jones failed a drug test back at UFC 214 and has since been waiting for USADA to issue their verdict on the matter. A previous report claimed that Jon Jones was being rumored for the event’s headliner. Now a new rumor is speaking on a possible opponent.
Jon Jones faced off against former title challenger Alexander Gustafsson back at UFC 165, ultimately earning a unanimous decision victory over the fighter. Now Middle Easy has come forward to report that the UFC is rumored to be targeting a rematch between the two fighters for the main event of UFC 229. Of course, the fight has yet to be officially announced.
