UFC megastar Conor McGregor recently shared a few words on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. During his time on the program, “Notorious” divulged an interest in fighting former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
“I’d be interested in an Anderson Silva bout,” McGregor said. “I swear to God. Anderson is a legend of the game. I’m sure he’s hunting for a few quid as well.”
Well, “The Spider” has now decided to fire back. Taking to Twitter, Anderson Silva first voiced is shared interest in a fight with the Ireland native over social media. Check out a translation down below.
“It would be an honor to test myself with Conor McGregor. He’s an unorthodox fighter and has proven he must be respected. Let’s make it happen.
“The UFC wants superfights, I’m sure fans from all over the world want to see this fight. Professionally, I believe it would be incredible to test my martial arts abilities with a fighter like Conor McGregor in a true superfight. He’s focused on fighting Khabib Nurmagomedov now, after this fight I’m ready for this challenge. When and where he wants.”
Speaking in a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Anderson Silva elaborated on his interest in fighting the former two-division champion. Silva revealed that he wants to face McGregor in a 180 pound catchweight bout for a super-fight.
