UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov submitted Conor McGregor at UFC 229 on Saturday, Oct. 6. However, the reigning champion quickly whipped the arena into a frenzy as he leaped out of the octagon and attacked McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis.
A brawl quickly broke out between the two fight camps live on the pay-per-view broadcast. Later speaking to media, Bellator President Scott Coker offered his thoughts on the matter.
“To me, it’s a black eye for the industry. It’s up to all of us to pick it up and make sure something like that never happens again.
“But that was embarrassing moment for the sport, as far as I’m concerned.”
