UFC megastar Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov faced off inside the octagon on Saturday, Oct. 6, for the live pay-per-view main event of UFC 229. After submitting McGregor, Nurmagomedov rushed out of the octagon and attacked the Ireland native’s teammate Dillon Danis.
A fracas quickly ensued, as the two fighters’ training camps began brawling on the live broadcast. The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) has since launched an investigation into the incident, consequently freezing Khabib Nurmagomedov’s $2 million payday momentarily during the process.
Now ESPN’s Ariel Helwani has come forward to report that Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will be temporarily suspended on Oct. 15. A hearing will be held on Oct. 24 to determine if both fighters should be indefinitely suspended during the rest of the investigation.
