Former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson is now set to throw down against former title holder Anthony Pettis in the co-main event of UFC 229. Meanwhile, UFC megastar Conor McGregor will face off against Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title within the night’s main event. However, it would appear that there was a time when Ferguson and “Notorious” nearly met inside the octagon.
Speaking in a recent media scrum, Tony Ferguson revealed that he was once offered a fight against Conor McGregor. “El Cucuy” claimed that he signed a fight contract for the bout, but the Ireland native never did.
“I want to see them show up. I signed up with Khabib I don’t know how many f**king times. I signed up with Conor too; he ducked me as well. I signed on the dotted line and he never signed.”
“Conor literally ducked me.”
