UFC 229 has now gone down as the highest selling pay-per-view in the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) with a whopping estimate of 2.4 million buys. With that in mind, the stunning fight card ended in some high intensity controversy.
Headlining UFC 229, undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov faced off against mixed martial arts megastar Conor McGregor. After submitting “Notorious” in the fourth round, Nurmagomedov leaped out of the octagon and sparked a fracas between the two opposing fight camps.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) has since opened an investigation into the incident and will hold a hearing on Oct. 24 to determine if McGregor or Nurmagomedov should be indefinitely suspended over the brawl.
Meanwhile, one passionate Conor McGregor fan decided to rush into the octagon during the brawl. The incident has since been captured on camera for all fight fans to see. Check it out within the video provided above.
