Daniel Cormier made history with his first round knockout of Stipe Miocic back at UFC 226. Now D.C. is the reigning heavyweight and light heavyweight champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
That being said, Cormier believes that the promotion will likely soon strip him of his light heavyweight belt. Speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, D.C. explained that his intention to defend his UFC heavyweight title from Brock Lesnar may have put his light heavyweight belt at risk.
“I imagine they’re going to take that belt, because I am scheduled to fight Brock Lesnar [at heavyweight]. I can’t fight at 205 first, so I’m pretty sure that they will take that title.”
