UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently set to throw down against mixed martial arts megastar Conor McGregor. That being said, an industry insider believes that this may be the Dagestan native’s final battle inside the octagon.
Nurmagomedov and McGregor are set to throw down on Oct. 6 for the live pay-per-view main event of UFC 229. Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub explained that he believes Khabib Nurmagomedov will retire after the fight.
“I think with Khabib and what he represents… talking to his team, team captain Josh Thompson, he goes ‘Khabib’s going to retire after this.’ He wants to beat Conor and retire. He wants to retire like the Floyd Mayweather of MMA.”
