Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman is set to face Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza next month. With that in mind, Souza is now aiming for a title fight if he manages to take out the former champion.
Weidman and Souza are set to co-headline UFC 230 on Nov. 3. Speaking to MMA Fighting, “Jacare” has since come forward to claim that he wants a title fight if he can beat Chris Weidman.
“Whoever wins will be up there. That’s a fact and I don’t even need to talk too much about it. I want to get in there, win — and win convincingly — and then say ‘brother, I’ll sit down and only call me if you’re going to talk about the belt.’ Everyone else is injured, there’s no one else to fight. My focus is on this fight, of course, but everybody knows that this fight will take me up there.”
