Khabib Opens Up On Horrific, Seizure Inducing UFC 229 Weight Cut

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has had issued making weight before. While the Dagestan native made weight for UFC 229, it would appear that it was no easy process.

Khabib Nurmagomedov faced off against Conor McGregor in the live pay-per-view main event of UFC 229 on Saturday, Oct. 6. Nurmagomedov earned a stunning submission victory over his opponent within the fourth round.

Speaking to Russian media in a recent interview, Khabib Nurmagomedov revealed that he suffered seizures during his recent weight cut. Check out a translation of Nurmagomedov’s full statement down below.

“I slept very good on the day before the fight, because the day before that I didn’t sleep at all. I had a serious weight cut. I made weight 7 hours ahead of time. I had seizures, I threw up even tough I didn’t have anything inside of me. I felt really bad. I probably wouldn’t tell about this if I didn’t win the fight, because it would sound like an excuse. Everything turned out well, I won. But I just want to tell you that I felt pretty bad.”
