‘Khabib’s wrestled a bear, but never an Irish gorilla’

UFC megastar Conor McGregor will be making his massive octagon return this weekend. Ahead of the big fight, “Notorious” is already making waves with a recent statement.

Conor McGregor is set to fight undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC 229. The live pay-per-view fight will go down Saturday, Oct. 6, for fight fans around the world.

Nurmagomedov has accrued a stunning professional record of 26-0, having never lost a round in his mixed martial arts career. Beyond that, the Dagestan native reportedly put his Sambo training to the test in a wrestling match with a bear when he was quite young.

Speaking on Conan, Conor McGregor recently came forward with some choice words for those concerned about Nurmagomedov’s intense wrestling background.

“He may have wrestled Dagestani bears, but he has never wrestled an Irish gorilla.” McGregor said. Check it out within the video provided above.
