Undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov put on a dominant performance on Saturday. The Dagestan native faced off against mixed martial arts megastar Conor McGregor for the main event of UFC 229 on Oct. 6.
Nurmagomedov submitted “Notorious” within the fourth round for a stunning victory. However, during the live pay-per-view broadcast, Khabib Nurmagomedov quickly leaped out of the octagon and then attacked Conor McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis.
Tensions had grown increasingly high leading up to the fight, with Nurmagomedov’s leap out of the octagon sparking a brawl between the two teams during the broadcast. A hearing will be held by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) on Oct. 24 to determine if Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov should be indefinitely suspended during the rest of the investigation into the matter.
Now a video of Khabib Nurmagomedov making his way back into his locker room directly after the UFC 229 fracas has made its way to the internet. Within the footage, “The Eagle” can be seen looking troubled. Speaking to American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) head coach Javier Mendez, Khabib Nurmagomedov was quick to apologize for the brawl.
