Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold was recently forced to pull out of his upcoming fight. Now the former title holder has come forward with a statement on the matter.
Luke Rockhold was initially set to fight fellow former champion Chris Weidman in a rematch for the co-main event of UFC 230. UFC 230 is set to take place Nov. 3 from within Madison Square Garden in New York.
Rockhold, however, was forced to pull out of the live pay-per-view event after suffering an injury. Speaking to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, Luke Rockhold revealed that he is expecting to recover from his injuries within four weeks.
“I need at least one weapon to make it the party.” Rockhold said.
Over Instagram Live, Rockhold added “It is what it is. I did everything I could. Some things just aren’t meant to be. Time to rest and recover.”
