Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov finally met inside the octagon on Saturday, Oct. 6. However, the fight ultimately ended in controversy. Now both world-class mixed martial artists are facing suspensions over the matter.
Headlining UFC 229, Nurmagomedov and McGregor battled it out in Las Vegas, Nev. for an intensely anticipated and massive main event. The reigning UFC lightweight champion ultimately earned a submission victory over Conor McGregor in the fourth round.
Directly after the fight, Nurmagomedov leaped over the cage and began attacking one of Conor McGregor’s teammates. A fracas quickly ensued between training camps of the two fighters.
The Los Angeles Times’ Lance Pugmire has since come forward to report that the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) has since issued a 10-day suspension to both Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov, as an investigation into the fracas is still proceeding.
