Undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov shocked the world on Saturday night with a fourth round submission victory over mixed martial arts megastar Conor McGregor. However, the bout has since been shrouded in controversy.
Nurmagomedov and McGregor faced off for the title in the main event of UFC 229 on Oct. 6. The fight was featured live on pay-per-view for fight fans around the world.
Directly after defeating “Notorious,” Nurmagomedov leaped out of the octagon and attacked McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis. A fracas quickly ensued among the fight camps of the two competitors.
Khabib Nurmagomedov has since revealed that the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) is not his only worry. Rather, the fighter’s father and trainer Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov plans on offering his own stringent punitive measures after the incident.
However, Khabib Nurmagomedov and his father recently sat down with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the meeting, Putin requested that Khabib Nurmagomedov’ father show some leniency with the UFC champion. Check it out within the video provided above.
