Mixed martial arts promotion Bellator MMA recently hosted the semi-finals for the organizations heavyweight tournament grand prix. However, it would appear that the event did not quite catchers the viewer’s attention in the ratings.
Bellator 208 took place on Saturday, Oct. 13, for fight fans around the world. Headlining the night’s event, mixed martial arts legend Fedor Emelianenko faced off against UFC veteran Chael Sonnen in the semi-finals of the promotion’s heavyweight tournament.
As reported by MMA Fighting, Bellator 208 pulled in a total 521,000 views on Paramount network. Comparatively, Chael Sonnen’s defeat of Quinton Jackson in the tournament’s quarter-finals did 770,000 early this year. Emelianenko’s quarter-final win over Frank Mir hit a total 581,000.
All in all, it would appear that the promotion’s latest semi-final event has done significantly worse than previous quarter-final events earlier in the year.
