The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently traded former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson for former ONE welterweight title holder Ben Askren. Now it would appear that the UFC’s 125 pound division may be in jeopardy.

Demetrious Johnson has been released from his UFC contract and has since signed with ONE Championship. Now Middle Easy has come forward to report that the UFC is not actively looking to “salvage” the flyweight division following the trade.
Check out the original report down below.
“Huge if true but the word is the UFC’s men’s flyweight division is in real danger. Unless something changes Henry Cejudo may purse a bantamweight title fight rather than wait for 125 pound challenge to emerge. Internally the UFC is not in a big hurry to try and salvage the flyweight division.”
Henry Cejudo earned the UFC flyweight title back at UFC 227, when the Olympic gold medalist earned a decision victory over Demetrious Johnson. Cejudo has since been campaigning for a super fight against UFC bantamweight title holder T.J. Dillashaw.
