The UFC hosted the UFC 232 pre-fight press conference earlier today in promotion for the upcoming event. Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones decided to punctuate the conference by shoving his upcoming opponent.

UFC 232 is set to take place Saturday, Dec. 29, live on pay-per-view. Headlining the card, Jon Jones is set to face off against Alexander Gustafsson in Las Vegas, Nev. After their staredown at the recent pre-fight press conference, Jon Jones shoved Alexander Gustafsson, which nearly led to a physical altercation.
Speaking to ESPN, Jon Jones has since come forward to break down why he chose to shove his opponent.
“I tried to step in front of him and he stepped in front of me.” Jones said. “I was just like, you know what? We’re in New York. Let’s give the fans some excitement so I shoved him.”
