The former TKO Middleweight Champion Marc-Andre Barriault (11-2-0) had a rough start of his UFC career, losing his debut against Andrew Sanchez. However, heavy-handed Canadian wants to bounce off this loss as soon as possible, but standing in his way is a well-rounded and much more experienced Polish fighter, Krzysztof Jotko (20-4-0). After losing three fights in a row, Jotko managed to pick himself up and come back with a win over Alen Amedovski. It is now or never for him to start another UFC run.

Rd 1 – Both fighters exchange a couple of kicks at the beginning. Barriault charges forward but Jotko level changes and clinches against the fence. Jotko is tiring Barriault out. Barriault reverses the position. Both fighters are looking strong. Jotko uses his head and spins the clinch. Jotko backs off and they are back in the center. Nice right straight lands for Barriult but Jotko responds with the knee to the body. Jotko slowly finds his timing and lands a nice sneaky uppercut. Barriault continues to advance. Good elbow lands for Jotko, He is holding his chin up in the air. Barriault initiates another clinch and starts dirty boxing. Jotko reverses and almost gets the takedown. Barriault finds his leg to the double leg and partially gets the powerful takedown.
Rd 2 – Barriault starts walking Jotko down. Jotko is keeping his distance with the jab. Both fighters are swinging and missing. Barriault uses his head movement on the entering and initiates the clinch. Jotko separates. A big inside leg kick lands for Jotko. Barriault has a very disciplined defense, he is blocking the shots well. They are back in the clinch as Jotko lands a one-two on separation. He fires a knee to the body and drops his levels for a takedown. Barriault stuffs it. Barriault is more active during the clinch. Jotko is constantly searching for an uppercut. Barriault separates and lands a good right. Another lead uppercut lands for Jotko! Barriault spots the danger and clinches. Both fighters are breathing heavily as Jotko separates. Barriault dives for a takedown but finishes on the bottom.
Rd 3 – Jotko opens up with a couple of kicks. He follows with the double leg takedown attempt but Barriault stuffs it. Not much action in the clinch as Herb Dean warns them to work. Jotko is committed to a takedown but Barriault is showing good balance. Barriault separates and starts pressuring forward. He is looking to initiate a brawl. Jotko starts landing nice uppercuts and knees but Barriault responds with a couple of close-range punches. They are back in the clinch and Jotko lands another uppercut on the separation. He is clearly doing more damage. Whenever Barriault presses forward, Jotko responds with a clinch. Barriault lands a nice leg kick. He follows with a couple of elbows against the cage but Jotko moves away and resets. He is looking exhausted as Barriault continues with the pressure. Jotko times entry on the single leg and scores a late takedown.
