Nick Newell made a stunning return to the sport of mixed martial arts last week. The one-armed fighter has earned a dazzling professional record of 14-1 during his time in the sport, having most recently earned a big win after nearly three years from the cage.
Newell faced off against Sonny Luque at LFA 35, earning a first round submission victory over his opponent. Following his big win, Newell decided to call out the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Responding to the recent message, UFC President Dana White has decided to deny Newell’s request for a shot inside the octagon. Speaking to TMZ Sports, the UFC head stated:
“When you come back, tell me somebody he beat that matters and we’ll talk about getting him in the UFC. The kid’s talented. He’s got a ton of heart. I don’t want to see him get hurt.”
