Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum suffered a tough loss over the weekend. Now heated rival Colby Covington has decided to come forward with an antagonizing statement for the former title holder.
Colby Covington first drew controversy when he called Brazil a “dump” and Brazilians “filthy animals” in his post-fight interview at UFC Sao Paulo in 2017. Brazilian native Fabricio Werdum would later cross paths with the UFC welterweight in Australia, leading to a heated physical altercation.
Werdum, not happy with Covington’s statement, struck the fighter with a boomerang he received from a fan earlier. Covington would go on to press charges against Werdum for the incident.
Well, Werdum faced off against Alexander Volkov in the main event for UFC Fight Night 127 on Saturday, March 17. However, Volkov managed to earn a knockout victory over the former champion within the fourth round.
