UFC superstar Conor McGregor was involved in a fracas on Thursday, April 7, that now has the fighter facing serious charges. Now former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has come forward with a heated message to a former fighter that made a comment on the incident.
“Notorious” turned himself in to local police shortly after a fracas that took place backstage of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on April 7. McGregor and a large group of the fighter’s entourage allegedly attacked a bus filled with fighters set to compete at UFC 223.
Multiple fighters were injured in the incident, forcing Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg to pull out of their respective UFC 223 match ups. Now McGregor is due back in court on June 14 after facing multiple charges for the incident.
Taking to Twitter, former UFC competitor Tyson Griffin decided to comment on the fracas by throwing Jon Jones into the picture.
“Well there goes @TheNotoriousMMA lossing his @BurgerKing deal faster than @JonnyBones lost his @Nike deal!! Or did he?? More more problems”

Unhappy with the statement, Jones fired back with a string of Tweets. Defending himself, Jones surprisingly also decided to come to the defense of the Irish native. Check it out below:
@TysonGriffin my dream was to be sponsored by Nike as a high school wrestler, became an adult and made it happen. Even had my own sneaker which sold out within a day.

@TysonGriffin What ever happened with your Nike deal, I don’t remember. I’ll wait…

@TysonGriffin You can tell by the tone of your tweet that you’re happy Connor may be losing his deal. Disguise yourself as an MMA coach or a MMA personality, I just see a bitter bitch who’s the size of my dick
