UFC superstar Conor McGregor decided to make his presence known at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday, April 7. After making his way backstage with a large entourage, a fracas ensured that would ultimately end in multiple fighters being injured and McGregor facing serious charges.
Undefeated UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov had a confrontation with SBG Ireland’s Artem Lobov just days before the incident. Conor McGregor, being a friend and teammate to Lobov, was reportedly looking to retaliate against Nurmagomedov.
The Irish native and his large entourage then allegedly attacked a bus full of UFC fighters backstage of the Barclays Center. Nurmagomedov was in the vehicle during the attack, but did not suffer any injuries.
On the other hand, Ray Borg and Michael Chiesa were pulled from their respective UFC 223 match ups due to injuries. After turning himself in to local police, Conor McGregor is now facing misdemeanor charges of assault and a felony charge of criminal mischief for the recent fracas.
