Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor has been making headlines for an incident that took place in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday, April 5. Now the Irish native has taken to social media to offer a message to his fight fans following the recent fracas.
Newly crowned UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov had a confrontation with McGregor’s friend and teammate Artem Lobov inside a hotel leading up to UFC 223. In retaliation, “Notorious” took a large entourage backstage of Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on April 5 and allegedly attacked a bus in which Nurmagomedov and a collection of other UFC 223 red corner fighters were inside.
Multiple fighters were injured in the incident, including Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg. After turning himself in to local authorities, Conor McGregor faced three charges of misdemeanor assault and a felony charge of criminal mischief.
