It would appear that reigning UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas is not looking to forgive UFC superstar Conor McGregor for the recent fracas in Brooklyn, New York quite yet.
“Notorious” decided to pay the Barclays Center a visit on Thursday, April 5. The Ireland native lead a large entourage backstage of the center, where the group allegedly attacked a bus filled with red corner fighters for UFC 223.
The target of the attack was reportedly Khabib Nurmagomedov, as the fighter has a confrontation with McGregor’s teammate Artem Lobov within a hotel days earlier. However, “The Eagle” was not the one injured in the attack.
An estimated $8,000 in damages was caused to the UFC bus and multiple people were injured in the fracas. Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg were pulled from their respective UFC 223 bouts due to injuries sustained in the incident.
Among those present on the bus was Rose Namajunas, as the fighter was set to defend her title from Joanna Jedrzejczyk in the co-headliner for UFC 223. Namajunas was reportedly shaken up from the attack.
Now CBS is reporting that Conor McGregor allegedly reached out to Namajunas over direct messaging and attempted to apologize to the champion for the incident. However, Namajunas reportedly responded to the fighter’s apology with “F*CK YOU!”
Conor McGregor is now facing misdemeanor and felony criminal charges for the incident. The former two-division UFC champion is due back in court June 14.
