Mixed martial arts legend Vitor Belfort is set to fight over the weekend. Now the former UFC title holder has come forward with his thoughts over why he attended the recent UFC 224 media day in his robe.
Vitor Belfort and fellow Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran Lyoto Machida will be going toe-to-toe on the main card of UFC 224. The exciting, live pay-per-view event will take place May 12 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
In promotion for the fight, Belfort attended the recent UFC 224 Media Day to answer questions from media. To many people’s surprise, the fighter attended the event in his robe rather than representing any sponsored Reebok apparel.
Speaking to Combate, Belfort explained that he wanted to show fight fans the “real” him. Consequently, the fighter revealed that he often wears a bathrobe at home so he decided to don the attire for the recent media day.
