The president of the UFC, Dana White is about as polarizing a sporting figure as there ever has been.
His sometimes cruel and brash persona has elevated the UFC to continued success over the years, and he remains one of the company’s biggest stars.
With Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series about to be back in full swing, one notable talent booked to compete is former NFL player Greg Hardy. Hardy was charged with domestic abuse in his past, and remains a controversial figure to this day.
Recently a victim of domestic abuse hit twitter to petition the UFC to reconsider allowing Hardy to compete. This prompted UFC legend and former champion Frank Shamrock to chime in on his alleged experience with Dana White.
Here’s the chain of events:
Good afternoon, @danawhite, @ufc. On September 10, 2014, you said,”You don’t bounce back from putting your hands on a woman.”
As an MMA fan and a victim of domestic violence myself, I’m asking you to reconsider having Greg Hardy fight on the Tuesday Night Contender Series. 1/2

If you won’t reconsider, could you at the very least pass along a couple of useful resources so that other victims of domestic violence know where to go should they need help?
Thank you. 2/2

That’s when Shamrock chimed in:
I am so sorry for ur abuse. Btw. @danawhite doesn’t care. I watched him beat up a woman and then celebrate. He is racist, lair, a bully and generally a bad person.
