UFC superstar Conor McGregor has been living it up as the days have grown closer to his court hearing. However, it would appear that the former two-division UFC champion is now heading to the United States ahead of his impending court date.
“Notorious” made headlines on Thursday, April 5, for a fracas that took place within a loading dock of the Barclays Arena in New York. A large entourage lead by Conor McGregor allegedly attacked a bus filled with red corner fighters for UFC 223 within the loading dock.
Among those within was Khabib Nurmagomedov, the alleged target of the attack. The Dagestan native had an altercation with SBG Ireland’s Artem Lobov within a hotel days earlier. Consequently, Conor McGregor was reportedly looking to retaliate for the slight on his teammate.
While “The Eagle” was not injured, other individuals were. Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg were forced out of their respective UFC 223 bouts due to injuries sustained in the attack. Rose Namajunas was reportedly quite shaken from the incident and had to consider her options for her title rematch on the upcoming card.
Conor McGregor later turned himself in to local authorities and has since been charged with a felony case of criminal mischief and misdemeanor cases of assault. “Notorious” is due back in court June 14.
Taking to Twitter, Conor McGregor has since revealed that he plans to leave for the United States this Tuesday. The statement was made in reference to SBG teammate Cian Cowley big win at BraveCF 13 within Belfast, Northern Ireland.
“Congrats @CianCowley from the cells to the stadiums. Not a scratch. They done nothing. Jet leaves Tuesday my brother have a good one #Animal”
