When it comes to combat sporting legends, you’re in very rare space if you’re mentioned in the same breath as Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson.
And for Conor McGregor that just happened, and not via a fan either.
Instead, in a new interview with FOX, it was UFC president Dana White who bestowed that honor on his biggest star, Conor McGregor.
Check it out:
“He’s my Ali. He’s my Tyson. He burst onto the scene and I knew the minute I sat down and had dinner with him that this kid was going to be a star. I didn’t know if he’d be able to fight and I didn’t know if he’d be able to win a title, but I knew he was going to be a star.”
Conor McGregor returns to action in the UFC 229 main event. He will face off with the unbeaten Khabib Nurmagomedov for the UFC lightweight world title.
