Canelo Alvarez went toe-to-toe with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. last night in what was expected to be an all out war between the two boxers. However, Alvarez simply pummeled his opponent with a dominant performance.
As one round limped into the next, Alvarez continued to put the pressure on his opponent. In the end, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. faced a unanimous decision loss to Canelo Alvarez. The crowd quickly began to boo Chavez Jr., as the fight fell from his favor.
However, shortly after the bout was completed, some news made its way into the ring. Boxing phenom Gennady “Triple G” Golovkin walked into the boxing ring and entered a staredown with the night’s victorious boxer.
Then and there, it was announced that Gennady “Triple G” Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez would be going toe-to-toe in a super-fight for September 16. The city and venue for the epic matchup has not yet been announced.
