Michael “Venom” Page will no longer be competing at Bellator 179 in London.
After suffering a knee injury, Page was forced to withdraw from his fight against Derek Anderson.
The Telegraph were the first to report Page’s withdraw from Bellator 179. They also talked to Anderson about losing his opponent in London.
“I’m upset, as MMA fighters we are always fighting injuries,” Anderson said.
“I’ve fought through stuff my whole career and it would take a whole lot for me to pull out of a fight this close to it happening. This is how I make my living, so even longer of a layoff does me no good. When he gets rebooked, it better be against me and I want it to happen as soon as possible.”
Bellator 179 will take place May 19 at the Wembley Arena. Former UFC title challenger Rory MacDonald will make his Bellator debut in the main event when he fights Paul Daley.
