Damir Ryspayev, a hockey player in Russia, has been given a life-long ban from the Kontinental Hockey League for starting brawls on the ice.
Even though he can’t make money playing hockey, Ryspayev has been offered a deal to fight in one of Russia’s premier MMA organizations.
Fight Nights Global have offered Ryspayev the opportunity to fight for the promotion.
Fight Nights Global are growing their presence in the world of MMA. Recently, former UFC title challenger Ali Bagautinov was knocked out by Tyson Nam at one of their events. An upcoming event in June will feature former UFC heavyweight title challenger Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva fighting former Bellator Heavyweight Champion Vitaly Minakov.
In the video below, you can see why Ryspayev has been banned by the KHL. During a game, Ryspayev starts a fight with almost every member of the opposing team. He goes after each player and fights them one after another. One player had to leave the arena on a stretcher.
