Former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw is confused about UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson not being interested in fighting him.
Dillashaw is currently scheduled to fight UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt on July 8 at UFC 213.
However, Garbrandt is suffering from a back injury so the fight may be canceled.
After learning of Garbrandt’s injury, Dillashaw began campaigning for a title shot against Johnson.
After challenging Johnson, the champion did not seem too interested in defending his title against Dillashaw.
“I’m disappointed and confused that DJ said he doesn’t want the fight,” Dillashaw tweeted on Thursday.
UFC President Dana White recently told ESPN if Dillashaw were to fight Johnson, it would take place in August.
In August, Johnson is expected to defend his title for a record-breaking 11th time. He is expected to headline UFC 215. The event has yet to be announced but it is expected to take place in Seattle, Washington.
