A UFC fighter is claiming Wanderlei Silva is doing everything in his power to avoid having to take a drug test in the U.S.
Silva was scheduled to appear at a press conference for his upcoming fight in New York, but due to an illness was not able to attend.
“Is it me or is Wanderlei doing a great job of avoiding the states and away from athletic commissions prior to his fight with Chael Sonnen,” UFC fighter Anthony Smith said.
Smith does make a good point, Silva does have a history with performance-enhancing drugs. He also went to extreme lengths to avoid taking drug tests while he was in the UFC.
Silva is scheduled to fight Chael Sonnen in the main event of Bellator: NYC on June 24. This will be Bellator’s first event to take place at the historic Madison Square Garden in New York City. This will also be Bellator’s second pay-per-view event.
