On Saturday the UFC returned to Singapore with an exciting Fight Night event featuring a plethora of former champions and top contenders.
In the main event, former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm is set to do battle against former title challenger Bethe Correia.
Before the elite bantamweights square off, the UFC once again presented a full day’s worth of intriguing matches.
Featherweight standout Alex Caceres made an appearance on the prelims as he fought Rolando Dy.
Dy started the fight with a high kick. Caceres threw some kicks of his own. Caceres began throwing multiple punches in a row and was landing every shot. Dy was rocked after a head kick and strong hook. Caceres then dropped Dy with a straight punch. He then took Dy’s back and went for a rear-naked choke. Dy fought the choke and managed to get back to his feet. The round ended with both fighters trading dominant position while grappling.
Dy appeared to have problems seeing to start the second round, but he still managed to land powerful kicks. The referee briefly stopped the fight to check on Dy’s eye. When the fight restarted both fighters traded blows. Dy then took Caceres’ back, but he quickly escaped. Dy was shutting his left eye by the middle of the round. The round ended with both fighters trading punches.
In between rounds, the referee stopped the fight due to Dy’s eye injury.
