On Saturday the UFC returned to Singapore with an exciting Fight Night event featuring a plethora of former champions and top contenders.
In the main event, former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm is set to do battle against former title challenger Bethe Correia.
Before the elite bantamweights square off, the UFC once again presented a full day’s worth of intriguing matches.
While women bantamweights will finish the show, they were also given the opportunity to start the day of fights as Ji Yeon Kim fought Lucie Pudilova.
Both women came out swinging to star the first fight of the day. Pudilova mixed up her punches and kicks, while Kim relied on her boxing. Both fighters had no problems landing blows against each other. Pudilova used her reach advantage and appeared to land more strike, but that didn’t stop Kim from continuing to move forward. Pudilova finished the round with a Superman punch followed by a nice combination.
Pudilova was aggressive to start the middle round, but Kim had no problems retaliating. As the round went on, Kim began having more success. She managed to bust open her opponent. Pudilova then embraced Kim with a clinch and held her up against the cage. Eventually, the referee separated the fighters after Pudilova failed to produce any damage with her clinch. Both women began to land against each other towards the end of the round. Pudilova finished the round once again engaging a clinch, but failing to do any damage.
The final round started with Pudilova going back to the clinch. Once again the referee was forced to separate both fighters due to the lack of action against the cage. Pudilova then managed to secure a guillotine choke. Kim managed to reverse position and got Pudilova on her back. Pudilova worked her way back to her feet and quickly went back to a clinch followed by a guillotine choke. However, Pudilova ran out of time to finish the submission.
Official Result:
Lucie Pudilova def. Ji Yeon Kim by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
