Former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos made his welterweight debut in the UFC on Saturday.
At a UFC Fight Night in Singapore, Dos Anjos fought former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Tarec Saffiedine.
Dos Anjos and Saffiedine fought in a grueling back-and-forth battle for three rounds, but in the end, all the judges agreed that Dos Anjos had done enough to earn the unanimous decision victory.
With his win over Saffiedine, Dos Anjos is already a contender in the UFC 170-pound division.
Dos Anjos left the lightweight division after losing his last two fights at 155 pounds. In November, he lost a decision to top contender Tony Ferguson. Last July, Dos Anjos lost his UFC championship after being knocked out by Eddie Alvarez.
