Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s press conference world tour has now come to an end. With the tour’s final stop having come to a close last night, fighters and fans have begun giving their thoughts on the epic presser event.
Among them, UFC President Dana White recently took to social media to provide an apology to the promotion’s fans.
“Thank u so much Brooklyn, NY!!!! So sorry about the #shitshow It’s not my show or it would be run WAAAAAY different. Thanks for always supportin.” White stated.
Showtime’s Stephen Espinoza was quick to respond to White’s comments in an interview with MMA Fighting.
Espinoza explained, “Dana has come in with very strong ideas about how he likes press conferences run. From our perspective, the way he runs press conferences deemphasizes the fighters. It emphasizes Dana. That’s backwards. I understand that might be great for the UFC brand but our goal, strategically and philosophically, is to try to place the fighters at the center of the promotion.”
