On Friday, reports came out about one of the fighters competing at UFC 214 being sent to the hospital due to dehydration.
It appears the fighter that was taken to a local medical facility was Josh Burkman.
Burkman is scheduled to fight Drew Dober in a lightweight battle in the opening fight on UFC Fight Pass.
As of now, it appears that the fight is still scheduled to take place.
Burkman was sent to a hospital due to the state of California’s new protocols when it comes to cutting weight.
The majority of Burkman’s MMA career was spent in the welterweight division. So in order to make the 155-pound weight limit, Burkman must cut quite a bit of weight.
UFC 214 is scheduled to take place Saturday, July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
In the main event, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier will defend his title against former UFC champion Jon Jones.
Someone I know on site in Anaheim, whom I trust, said CSAC told a fighter they needed to go to the "medical facility" precautionary reasons
