Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier suffered his second career loss over the weekend. The now former champion faced off against rival Jon “Bones” Jones in the main event of Saturday night’s UFC 214. In the end, Cormier faced a hard loss to his opponent.
Jon Jones made a triumphant return to the octagon by earning a third round knockout finish over his opponent, granting the former champion the light heavyweight title once more. Following the performance, Daniel Cormier exchanged some heated words with referee “Big” John McCarthy. Cormier intially believed the fight was stopped early by the referee. However, Cormier later offered an apology to McCarthy over Instagram.
