Former UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo has shared some insight on the punching power of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.
In 2015, McGregor took only seconds to knockout Aldo and win the UFC featherweight title.
During a recent interview with Fight Hype, Aldo was asked about McGregor’s punching power.
“He has a good punch, but he cannot say that he is the biggest puncher, and the MMA gloves are tiny. They are four ounces,” Aldo said.
McGregor will be taking his punching power and testing it in the world of professional boxing in his next fight.
On Aug. 26, McGregor will fight boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather in his professional boxing debut.
The two will fight with 10-ounce gloves. However, that could be changed to eight-ounce gloves if the commission allows it. Regardless, the gloves will be bigger than what McGregor is used to wearing inside the Octagon.
